The Mercedes varsity football team lost their away non-conference game against McAllen Rowe by a score of 38-7. 

Mercedes quarterback Louie Rincon (#15) completed 15 of 23 passes for 119 yards while throwing one interception. Rincon also contributed to the Tigers’ rushing attack. 

Running back Noah Buenrostro (#2) added 111 rushing yards on 24 carries and scored an impresive up the middle ending with a dive into the endzone for a touchdown, providing a strong ground presence for the Mercedes offense. 

The Tigers are 2-1. They host Edinburg North for a non-league game on Friday, September 18. The Cougars 0-3 are coming off a 52-21 non-league loss to Brownsville Hanna.
