The Mercedes Lions Club’s annual Adopt a Highway trash pick took place on Saturday, September 12, 2026. Joining the volunteers were of five Mercedes High School students and, 18 large bags of trash was collected from the side of Business 83. Car parts, broken chair, metal and wood pieces were picked up. Lions’ motto is “We Serve”. 

The Lion’s Club next fundraising event is Lions Hocus Pocus, on Tuesday, October 27th from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m/ at Mercedes National Ballroom. Tickets may be purchased with Lion Peggy Chavez at Mercedes Texas National Bank.
