The American Legion Family Post 172, Mercedes Independent School District and the City of Mercedes will join together Saturday, Nov. 7, for the 14th Annual Veterans Day Parade, honoring the men and women who have proudly served in the United States Armed Forces. 

The annual community event will begin at 10 a.m., with the parade starting on 6th Street and traveling toward its ending destination at the Rio Grande Valley Livestock Show Grounds. 

Organizers are inviting schools, businesses, churches, civic organizations, families, community groups and other local partners to participate in the parade. 

Under the theme “Honor • Remember • Celebrate,” the event will provide an opportunity for the Mercedes community to come together and recognize local veterans and 

those who have served the nation. 

Organizers are encouraging community members and participating organizations to share the parade registration information with employees, students, families and members of their organizations to help make the 2026 Veterans Day Parade a strong community tribute.
