Edinburg FFA’s Roman Palomo Balances Livestock Projects, School and Varsity Football
Meet the Exhibitor: Q&A with Roman
Q: What animals are you competing with at the Rio Grande Valley Livestock Show this year?
An American Boer breeding doe, a breeding gilt and a market hog.
Q: What are your animals’ names?
A: My doe is Little Foot, my gilt is Darlin, and my market hog is Diesel.
Q: What breeds are your animals?
A: My goat is an American Boer, and my hogs are Dark Cross.
Q: How does this project connect to your future goals?
A: It has helped me learn to manage my time and become responsible not only for myself but for my animals. Whatever career I choose, these experiences will help guide me to become a leader and take ownership in my work.
Q: Who has helped mentor you along the way?
A: My sister helped me with goats when I was younger. As I got older I wanted to take on the challenge of showing hogs. This is my second year showing hogs and I really enjoy it. Jonn Goldammer from Goldammer Show Stock has been a big supporter and advisor.
