Mercedes ISD Earns First Teacher Incentive Allotment Designation

On Friday, February 6, 2026, Mercedes Independent School District proudly announced its first-ever Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) designations, recognizing 68 teachers for meeting the rigorous criteria established by the Texas Education Agency.

Teachers earned one of three designation levels: Recognized, Exemplary, and Master. In Mercedes ISD, 34 teachers earned the Recognized designation, 22 earned Exemplary, and 12 earned Master.

Through this designation, Mercedes ISD will be able to distribute approximately $1 million in additional funding directly to designated teachers, supporting the district’s efforts to retain highly effective educators and strengthen classroom instruction.

This historic achievement reflects the dedication of Mercedes ISD teachers, campus leadership, district administration, and the Board of Trustees in advancing instructional excellence and expanding opportunities for student success.
