As of Tuesday, the Mercedes High School Class of 2008 had raised $7,175 with a GoFundMe page in effort to help provide donations to the Alvarado family for the loss of their eldest son, Isidro Alvarado, who passed away recently. 

“Thank you all so much for the generous donations that you have all provided to the Alvarado Family during this difficult time,” a spokesperson stated on the GoFundMe page.  “For those who would like to do last minute donations, please do so. We plan to end the fundraiser by this week, in order, to start getting the funds ready to provide them to the Alvarado family. Once again, thank you all!”

According to the GoFundMe page, the Class of 2008 are absolutely devastated by the recent news of Isidro Alvarado’s passing. Isidro was a great person who impacted many people’s lives. Isidro is known for his great energy and like many would say, he was ‘the life of the party.’  Isidro always motivated others and offered a helping hand to those around him. In return, we want to do the same. 

The Class of 2008 is collecting the donations with the approval from the Alvarado family, for the funeral, to provide to the Alvarado Family during this difficult time. 

“Please consider donating if you are able to do so. The Class of 2008 and the Alvarado Family are very grateful for every donation received during this difficult time,” the page stated. “May we continue to pray for the Alvarado Family and provide them the support that they need at this time. Gone too soon, but never Forgotten. It is not goodbye, but see you later!!”
