Cynthia “Cyndi” Gregory, a Mercedes High School Class of 1996 graduate and former
Mercedes resident, passed away on January 27, in Little Rock, Arkansas.

She is survived by her husband, Joe Gregory, and their children: Jordan, Jeneva, and Jacy. She also leaves behind her cherished sisters, Angelica Cruz and her husband, Martin Cruz, and Myra Elizondo and her husband, Raul Garcia Jr., along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family who adored her. She was born to Robert and Martha Elizondo of Mercedes.

A celebration of her life was held on February 2, and her funeral was held Feb. 4, at Second Baptist Church, in Little Rock.
Cyndi was among the victims of rising violence in Little Rock in January. In response, a fundraiser has been launched to support her family.
