Leadership Mercedes IV Explores Listening, Empathy and Community History; Applications Open for Next Class

Leadership Mercedes, a program aimed at equipping community members with essential leadership skills, continues to pave the way for growth and prosperity in the City of Mercedes.
Now in its fourth year, Leadership Mercedes Class IV gathers monthly to explore the principles of Servant Leadership and engage with local organizations to better understand the community they serve.
In their second session, the class focused on the themes of listening and empathy—key pillars of effective leadership. As part of the session, participants visited the Dr. Hector P. Garcia Memorial Library to learn about the work of the Mercedes Historic Commission and the city’s rich historical roots.
Applications are currently open for next year’s Leadership Mercedes class. Interested community members are encouraged to contact the Mercedes Chamber of Commerce for more information.
